Im
the youngest of 6 singing siblings so music was inevitable. Our
first paid performance came early when 3 of us (ages 7 -11) appeared
one night only at a little known spot called My
Parents House. The cover charge was 5 cents and we packed
the place - both Mom & Dad came. We rocked the house lip singing
to a fav Beatles tune I Should Have Known Better. I
was hired on this gig to sing backing vocals and to play string-less,
rhythm guitar and there the story begins
Through the years I got considerably more practice on family vacations
and long trips in the station wagon. Those were the days when AM
radio played Beatles, CSN, James Taylor
I dont think
we even had FM radio then. Anyway, we sang to everything and we
were fabulous! Mom said so.

I finally graduated to playing on my own at a club in Rocky Hill,
NJ called The Place - there werent many to choose
from so I guess the name worked fine. I blazed on stage playing
all the songs Bonnie Raitt ever recorded. I was like a mini Bonnie
- I sang like her, played like her and drank like her (probably
didnt hold my liquor like her). The call came and I headed
west, unfortunately so did disco. To make some dinero I joined a
series of cover bands that refused to play disco during the 80s
- isnt that an oxymoron? Anyway, to get gigs we had to travel
far
and a lot
where it was cold
and dark
Lets see
there was Alaska in March then there was the
Northwest Territories in January and then there was Finland in February.
Year after year I traveled the Caribou Circuit and then thankfully,
the 80s ended.
On a more serious note...I've been singing, playing guitar and writing
songs since the age of 13. I was influenced early on by artists
such as Jackson Browne, Van Morrison, Aretha Franklin and more recently
by Shawn Colvin and Sheryl Crow. I love singing and playing everything
its so hard to define my style with simply a word or
two, so instead, how about a bunch: quirky, pop, swing, folk, funk,
gritty, blues and ballads.

My performing career has covered all kinds of ground
growing
up in New Jersey I started gigging during my teens, primarily as
a solo artist covering classic folk and blues tunes. When my music
brought me West I began songwriting more seriously and continued
to perform solo in San Francisco. Looking for love in all the wrong
places, I ended up in Los Angeles
Over the next few years I moved from playing solo to playing in
both original and cover bands. I started a couple of my own bands
including Jane Doe and Mood Swing.

So here I am today (several lifetimes later) with my own story-based,
acoustic debut Beautiful World, of which Im effusively
proud. Ive spent the last few years writing, recording and
collaborating on this project with my partner Ted Owens from my
home in LA. Yes, Mom - I have a finished product to show for it!
To all of you reading this whove been my fans since NJ and
waited so patiently for this debut- THANKS! To those of you reading
this tragic story for the first time. WELCOME! And if you like the
music please pass the word on to anyone you can
buzz is good.
