NOVEMBER 2005:

2nd ANNUAL SAN DIEGO INDIE MUSIC FESTIVAL
October 29th • 4:30pm
The Abbey on 5th

More info: http://www.SDIndieMusicFest.com

With Nancy Doyle on bass and Lori Valesko on percussion!
San Diego Indie Music Fest is a history-making event, the first of it's kind in California, created by musicians for musicians. Executive Producers, Danielle LoPresti and Alicia Champion, are proud to present the official 2005 San Diego Indie Music Fest lineup, with a brand new addition of secondary venue, the newly renovated Kung Food, down the street from The Abbey, with 2 more stages and Fifteen more artists, making this year's festival doubly as big as last year's, with a grand total of 50 Artists and Bands.

With KPRI 102.1FM, as the new official radio sponsor, and a new partnership with international nonprofit RESULTS (who recently affiliated with Bono's ONE.org, as well), Say It Records and Champ Records are moving at full speed to present the 2nd annual San Diego Indie Music Fest (SDIMF), Saturday November 5, 2005. Today in an era where more and more musicians are choosing the independent path, and in the dawn of the demise of Major record label payola, SDIMF is on it's way to becoming one of California's most notable events.

From Jonatha Brooke, our 2004 Festival Headliner:
"San Diego Indie Music Fest is a landmark event. In the face of the current state of the music industry, these three young women have come together to create a prototype for the present that will grow exponentially with each new year, benefiting not only the Artists, but the community wise enough to support and celebrate them. It was an honor to headline the inaugural SDIMF." - Jonatha Brooke, 2004 Headliner

On Saturday, November 5, 2005, San Diego-based indie-activist record companies Say It Records and Champ Records, in conjunction with KPRi 102.1FM, will present San Diego Indie Music Fest 2005(SDIMF), from 12 noon to 12 midnight, featuring 50 extraordinary independent artists and bands. Also present will be indie artisans selling their creations, henna tattooists, hair sculpture & jewelry making, tile painting, indie businesses, voter registration, 21 & up Cocktail area, massage, delicious and affordable food and drink, family friendly and all ages welcome all day long.

The fun and excitement will be taking place at The Historic Abbey on 2825 Fifth Ave, San Diego, CA 92103 and now the newly renovated Kung Food at 2949 Fifth Ave., and will feature a 12 hour-long musical feast on six stages: Rock, Pop, Folk, Latin, Hip Hop, R&B, Urban, Jazz, World, Spoken Word, and more. We are proud to announce indie pop-punk phenomena Veruca Salt as our featured headliner, along with So Cal sensations, Al Howard & The K23 Orchestra, Hornswaggled, The BellRays, The Laurie Morvan Band, Danielle LoPresti & The Masses, Alicia Champion, The Weepies, Gina Rene_ (formerly of Soulstice), and many more below. The music will be emphasized as a representation of why diversity is not simply to be 'tolerated' but rather celebrated as the crux of that which is remarkable in our community, as well as that which is crucial to a healthy, vibrant city where people of all kinds are important, recognized and valued.

Last November 2004, Say It Records and Champ Records made history with the groundbreaking debut of SDIMF by creating California's first and only independent music festival of it's kind. To the dismay of some mainstream media naysayers, Producers Alicia Champion, Danielle LoPresti and Kelly Bowen pushed on to create this most urgently needed musical event. The mission of San Diego Indie Music Fest is dedicated to supporting and celebrating the independent musician, initiating discussion and education of that which is Indie, and Fertilizing the San Diego Indie Music Scene. With a lineup exclusive to independent artists and bands, SDIMF is becoming California's premiere venue to experience indie music, art, business and thought. Last November 12, 2004, with little support and on a shoestring budget, the two indie labels produced a full 12-hour indie music extravaganza that left skeptics with dropped-jaws and tails between their legs. This first-ever 2004 SDIMF featured over 20 acts on 3 stages with indie icon headliners, Jonatha Brooke, Julie Wolf (of Ani Difranco) and Erika Luckett (artist lineup was selected from over 400 submissions from around the world). The success of their debut grassroots event garnered cover stories from The Gay & Lesbian Times to the conservative, San Diego Daily Transcript, infecting an extraordinarily diverse demographic with the power and message of independent music and the Indie Revolution.

And now, out of the over 500 submissions received for this year's festival, we are proud to present the...
